Yvette Gastauer-Claire
Yvette Gastauer-Claire (born on May 29, 1957 in Esch an der Alzette ) is a Luxembourgish sculptor and medalist .
Career
Yvette Gastauer-Claire studied from 1974 to 1979 at the Lycée des Arts et Métiers in Limpertsberg Visual Arts . From 1980 to 1984 she worked as a restorer in Luxembourg's national museums .
As a freelance artist, Yvette Gastauer-Claire has created several sculptures and reliefs for public spaces. In addition, she has made a number of medals and small sculptures, mostly made of bronze . Since 2001 she has been issuing an annual art medal in the series L'art dans la main (German: The art in hand ). Her best-known numismatic designs are the three different faces of the Luxembourg euro coins with the head image of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg .
Yvette Gastauer-Claire gives courses in sculpture for adults and teaches children at a school for the visually impaired. She lives and works in Schifflingen and is the mother of the cyclist Ben Gastauer .

- Sculpture Mémorial Championnats du Monde Cyclocross UCI 2017 in Belvaux (steel and bronze, 2018).

- Medal on the 40th anniversary of Elsy Jacobs' title win at the road cycling world championship (1998);
- 500 Luxembourg Francs silver coin, swearing-in of the new Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg (2000);
- Face of the Luxembourg euro coins (1999, stated minting years since 2002);
- since 2001 an annual bronze art medal in the series L'art dans la main ;
- 2 euro commemorative coin with the monogram Grand Duke Henris (2004);
- 2 euro commemorative coin on the 50th birthday of Grand Duke Henri and on the 100th anniversary of Grand Duke Adolphes' death (2005).
