Zdeněk Kolář (born October 9, 1996 in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem ) is a Czech tennis player .

Career

Zdeněk Kolář began playing tennis at the age of seven and was able to celebrate his first tournament success as a junior. His best ranking in the junior world rankings was a 67th place.

In 2013 he played his first professional match on the third-class ITF Future Tour , and in 2014 also on the second-class ATP Challenger Tour in doubles. So far, he has won four singles and five doubles on the Future Tour.

His most successful season was in 2017 when he won his first doubles title on the Challenger Tour. In Samarqand , he and Laurynas Grigelis were able to prevail against the Indian duo Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Vishnu Vardhan . Another title with Grigelis followed in Liberec and at the side of his compatriot Roman Jebavý in Cordenons . Through these successes he achieved his best placement in the double world rankings with a 138th place. In the individual, he has not yet made it into the top 200 with a 218th place as his best placement.

In the first round match of the Davis Cup 2017 against Australia , Kolář was initially intended for the doubles together with Radek Štěpánek , but was ultimately not used.
