Zohib Islam Amiri (also Haroon Fakhruddin ; born May 2, 1987 in Kabul , Afghanistan ) is an Afghan football player .
Life
Amiri was born on May 2, 1987 in Kabul to a Hazara family . His father runs a shop in Kabul, his mother is a housewife. Amiri grew up with five brothers and a sister in the Kabul district of Char-qala . During the Taliban regime in Afghanistan , Amiri's family fled to Pakistan for about a year .
As a little boy he said he played on the streets of Kabul; as a soccer ball, he first used rolled and sewn fabric , and later balls, which he bought with neighboring children. He also played on his school's soccer team.
Career

Amiri began his career at Shoa FC in Kabul. In 2007 he moved to FC Kabul Bank . From 2011 to 2014 he played for the Indian club Mumbai FC . In 2014 he moved to the Indian club Dempo SC , but was loaned out a short time later to FC Goa , which played in the newly founded Indian Super League . In 2015 he moved to DSK Shivajians , where he was under contract until 2016 before moving to Mohun Bagan .
From January 2018 to July 2019 he played for New Radiant in the Dhivehi League in the Maldives . Since then he has been under contract with the Indian second division club Gokulam Kerala FC .
National team
Amiri made his international debut on April 5, 2006 in a friendly in the Philippines (1-1). Later he was part of the Afghanistan squad for the South Asian Cup 2011 , where you could reach the final for the first time, but lost to India 4-0. He was the captain of his national team at the 2013 South Asian Cup and an important part of the Afghan defense. He scored goals in the 3-0 win over Bhutan and in the 3-1 win over Sri Lanka . In the final, his team won 2-0 against the Indian national team .
In May 2014 Amiri participated with Afghanistan in the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 in the Maldives . On May 22nd, he scored the first goal in the game against Turkmenistan , which they won 3-1. After the last group game against Laos (0-0), with which Afghanistan reached the finals in second place, an accident occurred on the way back to the hotel, which injured some players. He suffered minor injuries, along with Faisal Sakhizada , Ahmad Hatifie , Belal Arezou and Mustafa Azadzoy . As a result, all five players missed the semi-finals against Palestine (0-2) and were eliminated from the tournament.
In August 2014 he was nominated as one of three over-23 players for the Afghan U-23 national team , which competed in the Asian Games from September 15 to September 22 . The team eliminated after three defeats against Bangladesh (0: 1), Hong Kong (1: 2) and Uzbekistan (0: 5) as the last of Group B; Amiri, who led the team as captain, scored the only goal the Afghans scored in the tournament with his goal to make it 2-1 against Hong Kong.
On March 29, 2015, Amiri announced his retirement from the national team as one of seven national players. Team-internal difficulties were given as the reason. He has so far played 43 international matches for Afghanistan. In November 2016, he was nominated for an international match (against Tajikistan ) for the first time in over a year and under pressure from the Vice-President of the Afghan Association Mohammad Yousef Kargar . Due to the protests of other teammates and the coach, who was dismissed without further ado, Amiris, who flew back from Dushanbe , was not deployed . Even under Otto Pfister he was not taken into account. But from the summer of 2017 he was regularly nominated and used again.
