Mustafa Azadzoy (born July 24, 1992 in Kabul , Afghanistan ) is an Afghan football player who also has German citizenship .

Life

Azadzoy was born in Kabul , the capital of Afghanistan . In 1993, at the age of six months, he fled to Germany with his parents and five siblings, where they lived first in Hamburg and then in Delmenhorst. He studies economics and administration at the University of Bremen .

Career

Club career

Mustafa Azadzoy began his playing career as a ten-year-old in the youth of Delmenhorster BV , where he played up to the B youth. Then the midfielder moved to VfL Oldenburg , before moving to competitor VfB Oldenburg in the league in 2011 . Azadzoy, who was also active in the second team and scored three goals, played 16 times here. On September 25, 2011 in the 3-0 defeat against Eintracht Nordhorn , he was seriously injured and had to be transported to hospital. Azadzoy played twice in the regional league . In January 2013 he was injured alongside Christian Thölking and Alex Baal as the third VfB player in the LzO Cup , the Oldenburg indoor soccer city championships. He made his comeback on April 24, 2013 in a 1-1 draw against Holstein Kiel when he came on for Julian Bennert in the 77th minute.

On August 17, 2013, Azadzoy moved to the Lower Saxony top division club TB Uphusen , after having trained with the team for 14 days. At the end of the season they finished ninth in the league and reached the semi-finals in the NFV Cup . In the run-up to the World Cup qualifier against Syria (2: 5) on October 14, 2015, Azadzoy suffered a broken foot and was out for several months. His contract was terminated with immediate effect on April 27, 2016 due to internal differences.

About a month later, BV Cloppenburg announced that Azadzoy should switch to the relegated regional league. In June 2016, however, the player received an offer from a Thai professional club and asked Cloppenburg for clearance for a move, which the club followed. Thereupon signed with the leaders of the Thai Division 2 , Nara United , his first professional contract until the end of the season on December 31, 2016. He played eleven games, scored three goals and three assists and just missed promotion to the second division as runner-up.

For the 2017 season, Azadzoy moved to the Thai Division 1 after relegated from the Thai Premier League Chainat Hornbill FC . He was able to assert himself directly as a regular player and with eleven goals and twelve assists in 24 games played a decisive role in the direct recovery of the club. After the end of the season he announced his move to the Thai first division side Chiangrai United FC , where he signed a two-year deal. In December 2017 he was awarded for one season to the second division Chiangmai FC . At the end of the season you rose in the Thai Premier League. Azadzoy contributed four goals in 21 games to promotion. For the 2019 season he moved permanently to Chiangmai. After the club's relegation, he left Chiangmai and moved internally to the new second division club Nakhon Pathom United FC .

In August 2014 he was nominated for the Afghan U-23 national team , which will play at the Asian Games from September 19 to October 4 . After three defeats against Bangladesh (0: 1), Hong Kong (1: 2) and Uzbekistan (0: 5), the team was eliminated from Group B.

A national team

In June 2012 he was invited as one of five players to a course for perspective players in Virginia , USA , where he was the only one to convince and was invited to another course in Dubai . Here too, Mustafa Azadzoy, who is known as “Musti” in his environment, was able to convince, and so he was nominated for three international matches in qualifying for the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup . He made his international debut on March 2, 2013 in the 1-0 win against Sri Lanka , where he played for one half. Azadzoy played over 90 minutes each against Mongolia (1: 0) and Laos (1: 1), which ultimately succeeded in qualifying.

At the South Asian Championships, Azadzoy scored his first goal in a 3-0 win over Bhutan when he scored the interim 2-0 in the 77th minute. In the end, the national team became South Asian champions for the first time after a 2-0 victory in the final against India , with Azadzoy taking the interim 1-0 lead. At the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 , the national team reached the semi-finals. On the way back to the team hotel after the last group game against Laos (0: 0) you were involved in a traffic accident, as a result of which Azadzoy suffered severe bruises and in the semifinals against Palestine (0: 2) and the game for third place against the Maldives ( 7: 8 n.E.) failed.
