Zsolt Baumgartner [ ʒolt ˈbɒumɡɒrtnɛr ] (born January 1, 1981 in Debrecen ) is a former Hungarian racing driver . He started in Formula 1 in 2003 and 2004 .

Career

Baumgartner started his career in karting in 1994 . In 1997 he switched to the German Formula Renault Championship and has since competed in several formula racing series. He achieved his best result in 1999, when he finished third overall, at the Formula Renault Eurocup.

Baumgartner drove in the Formula 1 World Championship in 2004 for Minardi after 2003 two races for Jordan was denied. In his career so far, an eighth place in the US Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2004 was his greatest success; he collected a world championship point.
