David Binder (Born October 10, 1967 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is a Broadway, off-Broadway, and West End theater producer.

David has spent the last decade bringing new artists and audiences to the theater. He produced the first Broadway revival of Lorraine Hansberry's classic A Raisin in the Sun, starring Sean Combs, Audra McDonald, Phylicia Rashad and Sanaa Lathan. The production won two Tony Awards and was widely recognized for bringing in the most diverse audience Broadway had seen in decades. He is an Executive Producer of the ABC television movie based on the Broadway production.

In 1998 David introduced a young international crowd to De La Guarda, which ran off-Broadway for more than six years. He has presented the show everywhere from London to Las Vegas, Tokyo to Tel Aviv. He is currently producing Fuerzabruta, the new show from the creators of De La Guarda. David is also the original producer of John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask's rowdy, loud, and ultimately sweet rock ‘n' roll musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, as well as Lisa Kron's 2.5 Minute Ride.

In 2007, David and Josh Wood created and produced the High Line Festival, a new annual arts festival in NYC curated each year by a different artist. The inaugural season was curated by David Bowie and featured performances by Arcade Fire, Air, Meow Meow, Ricky Gervais (making his American stand up debut), and Laurie Anderson, among many others. The festival’s second season will take place in Fall 2008, to correspond with the opening of the new High Line park.

Simon and Schuster Audio released a book on tape of David’s Broadway reading of The Normal Heart, which featured Barbra Streisand, Kevin Bacon, John Turturro and Eric Bogosian. In 2006 he produced The Public Sings: A 50th Anniversary Celebration for the Public Theater with Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Ben Stiller and Mike Nichols, among many others.

Partnering with London’s Donmar Warehouse, he has presented West End productions of: Frost/Nixon (and on Broadway), Voyage Around My Father with Derek Jacobi, Lobby Hero and Guys and Dolls with Ewan McGregor.

He is the recipient of the Robert Whitehead Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theatrical Producing, and has been honored by Performance Space 122. He lectures at Columbia University. He attended the University of California at Berkeley.
