Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions is a heritage railway originating in Stettler, Alberta.
The train runs between Stettler and Big Valley. The trips last five to six hours, with a stopover (all excursions include a buffet meal). Many trains (see the schedule[1]) are pulled by the No. 41 1920 Baldwin 2-8-0 steam locomotive, formerly Mississippian Railway #77 and sometimes CN U-1-f 4-8-2 number 6060. On days when the 2 steamers aren't running, the railroad operates SW-1200 diesel switcher number 1259. Until the end of the railroad's 1999 season, it operated on the 60 mile route to Coronation Alberta, which is still ripped up as of today.
