(2141) Simferopol is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered by the Soviet astronomer Tamara Mikhailovna Smirnova on August 30, 1970 at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).
The asteroid was named after Simferopol , the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea .
