(2371) Dimitrov ( 1975 VR 3 ; 1952 UG 1 ; 1952 UQ 1 ; 1954 EY ; 1967 RV ; 1978 NK 2 ; 1981 GU ; A920 EA ) is an approximately seven-kilometer asteroid of the main inner belt that was created on November 2, 1975 was discovered by the Russian (then: Soviet Union ) astronomer Tamara Mikhailovna Smirnova at the Crimean Observatory (Nautschnyj branch) on the Crimean peninsula ( IAU code 095).
designation
(2371) Dimitrov was named after the Bulgarian politician Georgi Dimitrov (1882–1949). He was the founder of the Bulgarian Patriotic Front , chairman of the Bulgarian Communist Party and first prime minister of the People's Republic of Bulgaria .
