(30773) Schelde is an asteroid of the inner main belt , which was discovered on September 6, 1986 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at Nazionalna astronomitscheska obserwatorija - Roschen in the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains ( IAU code 071). The asteroid had already been sighted on February 18 and 19, 1977 under the provisional designation 1977 DA 3 at the Japanese Kiso Observatory .

The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be 10.498 (± 0.107) km . With an albedo of 0.048 (± 0.007) it has a dark surface.

Mean distance from the Sun ( major semi-axis ), eccentricity and inclination of the orbit plane of the asteroid roughly correspond to the Phocaea family, a group of asteroids named after (25) Phocaea . The 4: 1 orbital resonance with the planet Jupiter is characteristic of this group . The solar orbit of (30773) Scheldt is steeply inclined at more than 25 ° to the ecliptic of the solar system, which is characteristic of Phocaea asteroids.

(30773) Scheldt was named on October 18, 2013 after the Scheldt , a river that flows through France , Belgium and the Netherlands .
