(43954) Chýnov is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on February 7, 1997 by the Czech astronomers Miloš Tichý and Zdeněk Moravec at the Kleť observatory ( IAU code 046) near the town of Český Krumlov in Bohemia .

The asteroid was named on March 18, 2003 after the Czech town of Chýnov in the Jihočeský kraj region, which was first mentioned in 981 in the Kosmas Chronicle .
