(4671) Drtikol is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on January 10, 1988 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at the Kleť observatory ( IAU code 046) near Český Krumlov . The asteroid had already been sighted on April 24, 1974 under the provisional designation 1974 HM 2 at the Chilean observatory Cerro El Roble and on September 7 and 12, 1986 (1986 RR 7 ) at the Crimean observatory in Nautschnyj .
According to the SMASS classification ( Small Main-Belt Asteroid Spectroscopic Survey ), a spectroscopic study by Gianluca Masi , Sergio Foglia and Richard P. Binzel at (4671) Drtikol assumed a bright surface, so it could, roughly speaking, be around trade an S asteroid .
(4671) Drtikol is named after the Czech photographer František Drtikol (1883–1961). The name was given by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) on April 2, 1999 at the suggestion of the Czech astronomer Miloš Tichý .
