(6586) Seydler is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 28 October 1984 of the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at Kleť Observatory ( IAU code 046) in Český Krumlov was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Bohemian physicist and astronomer August Seydler (1849-1891), who wrote a two-volume work on "Theoretical Physics" in Czech and dealt with orbital calculations of minor planets and comets .
