Åse Idland (born April 2, 1973 in Figgjo ) is a former Norwegian biathlete .

Åse Idland lives in Figgjo and started for Figgjo Idrettslag . She started biathlon in 1983. Since the 1989/90 season she took part in the Biathlon World Cup. The best result in the highest racing series was a sixth place in an individual, achieved in 1992 at the start of the 1992/93 season in Pokljuka . In the 1992/93 and 1993/94 seasons she was 19th in the overall ranking of the World Cup. The first major event was the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , where the Norwegian finished 27th in the individual. At the Biathlon World Championships in Borowez in 1993 , she came in 36th in the individual, 20 in the sprint, with Annette Sikveland , Anne Elvebakk and Hildegunn Fossen ninth in the relay race and, alongside these three in the team race, just missed a medal in fourth place. The last major event was the 1994 Biathlon World Championships in Canmore , where the non-Olympic races were held. There she won the silver medal with Ann Elen Skjelbreid , Sikveland and Fossen behind the representation from Belarus. The 1994 Winter Olympics at home in Lillehammer missed Idland. It was not until 1999 that she was used again at a major event in Izhevsk at the European Biathlon Championships and won the bronze medal behind Russia and Poland in the relay race with Arna Kolltveit , Ann Helen Grande and Borghild Ouren . National she won six medals at Norwegian championships between 1990 and 1997, including the sprint and relay titles in Brumunddal and Hattfjelldal in 1993 .
