Austrian Ski Championships 1909
The 3rd Austrian Ski Championship took place as part of the third association competition of the Austrian Ski Association from February 21 to 22, 1909 in Mürzzuschlag in the Kronland Styria .
The defending champion of last year's championship was crowned Austrian ski champion for 1909 with Fritz Miller from Innsbruck .

The Austrian Winter Sports Club and the Mürzzuschlag Winter Sports Club were responsible for hosting and organizing the championship .
Attendees
Oskar Blich from Christiania ( Norway ), Carl Joseph Luther and Alfred Walter from Munich as well as the Austrians Fritz Miller from Innsbruck , Richard Baumgartner from Graz and Emmerich Rath from Prague competed for the open championship of Austria .

The cross-country run extended over a distance of 10 km. The route led from the summit of the Pretulalpe via Kaiserhaus - Latzenschlegel - Poldlbauer - Schattleitenwiese to the Schallerbauer in Auersbach.

Supporting program
Outside of the championship, ski jumping competitions for juniors and boys, a junior downhill run and a women's ski run were held. The professional runner jumping for ski instructors aroused particular interest from the public . On that participated Eduard capiti from St. Moritz in Switzerland (28 m, d. 3), Hannes Schneider from the Arlberg (22 m, d. 3) and the Styrian Alois Skazel (16 m, also three seasoned jumps).
Apart from every evaluation, the Norwegian Torleif Aas showed his skills with jumps over 28 m (stood) and 30 m (fallen).
