Øyvind Hegg-Lunde (born February 12, 1982 in Lærdal ) is a Norwegian jazz musician ( drums , percussion , composition ).

Live and act

Hegg-Lunde grew up in Borgund ; he lives in mountains today . From 2005 to 2008 he studied at the Griegakademiet in Bergen and the Högskolan för scen och musik at the University of Gothenburg , where he initially obtained a bachelor's degree in jazz / improvised music, and in 2018 his master's degree at the Griegakademiet.

Since 2001 Hegg-Lunde has been touring clubs and festivals in Norway and Scandinavia as well as in Europe, America and Africa. He performed with musicians such as José Gonzalez , Junip , Arve Henriksen , Ståle Storløkken , Trygve Seim , Per Jørgensen , Terje Isungset , Håkon Kornstad , Kjetil Møster , Kurt Johannessen, The Megaphonic Thrift , Odin Staveland and Odd Martin Skålnes. He is also active in several individual projects, such as B. Building Instrument, Electric Eye, Strings & Timpani, Crab is Crap, Glow, Krachmacher and The Big Almost , with which he is partly also documented on CD. He also worked on an interdisciplinary basis with other art forms such as dance, poetry, theater, performance and video. Together with co-composer Stephan Meidell, Hegg-Lunde received good reviews for his commissioned opening concert Voice & Strings & Timpani for the Nattjazz Festival in Bergen 2016.

Prizes and awards

Hegg-Lunde received various grants and awards, including the 2007 Nattjazz sin Vitalpris . In 2016 he received the Folkelarmprisen 2016 with the Erlend Apneseth Trio for the album Det Andre Rommet ; the album was also nominated in the "Open Class" for the Spellemann Prize. The album Princess by Stéphan Oliva , Susanne Abbuehl and himself received the Grand Prix du Disque of the Académie Charles Cros in the jazz category in 2017 .
