(10918) Kodaly is an asteroid located in the outer main belt , which was discovered on January 1, 1998 as part of the Spacewatch project of the University of Arizona at the Kitt Peak National Observatory ( IAU code 691). The asteroid had already been sighted: on March 16 and 17, 1993 under the provisional designation 1993 FE at the Japanese Geisei Observatory and on June 8, 1994 (1994 LN 9 ) at the Chilean La Silla Observatory .

The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be 7.751 (± 0.130) km .

The asteroid belongs to the Themis family, a group of asteroids named after (24) Themis . The ageless (not osculating ) orbital elements of (10918) Kodaly are almost identical with the smaller (when one of the absolute brightness of 14.8 compared to 13.9 emanates) asteroids (67125) 2000 AC 131 .

(10918) Kodaly was named on May 9, 2001 after the Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967). His sonata for solo cello from 1915 was particularly highlighted in the dedication.
