(14439) Evermeersch is an asteroid of the outer main belt , which was discovered on September 2, 1992 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809).

The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis . The timeless (non- osculating ) orbital elements of (14439) Evermeersch are almost identical to those of five smaller ones (if one considers the absolute brightness of 15.4, 15.4, 15.5, 17.2 and 17.0 compared to 13, 7) Asteroids: (43883) 1995 EK 2 , (71499) 2000 CV 20 , (164372) 2005 EU 67 , (383697) 2007 TF 406 and (470130) 2006 UN 28 .

(14439) Evermeersch was named on June 20, 2016 after the Belgian philosopher Etienne Vermeersch . His books “De ogen van de panda” from 1988 and “De rivier van Herakleitos” from 2008 were particularly mentioned in the dedication.
