(214487) Baranivka is an asteroid of the outer main belt , which was discovered on October 29, 2005 at the Andrushivka Astronomical Observatory in Haltschyn, northern Ukraine ( observatory code A50).

The asteroid belongs to the Hygiea family, a rather older group of asteroids, as is believed, the largest member of which is the asteroid (10) Hygiea . The timeless (not osculating ) orbital elements of (214487) Baranivka are almost identical to those of nine other asteroids: (8601) Ciconia , (113279) 2002 RN 159 , (119025) 2001 BG 30 , (157009) 2003 QW 18 , (159 526 ) 2001 FB 121 , (247424) 2002 CD 288 , (275167) 2009 WW 15 , (331276) 2011 CO 90 and (340672) 2006 RJ 42 .

(214487) Baranivka was named on July 26, 2010 after Baranivka , a city in Zhytomyr Oblast , which is also where Andrushivka is located. In the naming text for the asteroid, the porcelain manufacture of Baranivka is particularly emphasized.
