(214820) Faustocoppi is an asteroid of the central main belt that was discovered by the Italian amateur astronomer Vincenzo Silvano Casulli on November 14, 2006 at the observatory in the district of Vallemare ( IAU code A55) in the municipality of Borbona in the province of Rieti . The asteroid had already been sighted on October 20 and 24, 2001 under the provisional designation 2001 UT 128 at the Lincoln Laboratory Experimental Test System in Socorro , New Mexico .
(214820) Faustocoppi was named on December 3, 2017 after the Italian racing cyclist Fausto Coppi (1919-1960).
