(225250) Georgfranziska is an asteroid of the main inner belt , which is located between Mars and Jupiter .

It was discovered on August 30, 2009 by the German amateur astronomers Stefan Karge and Ute Zimmer from the Hans-Ludwig-Neumann-Observatory ( IAU-Code B01) on the Kleiner Feldberg in the Taunus . The observatory is located at the location of the Taunus Observatory.

The asteroid was named on October 12, 2011 in honor of Georg (1835-1902) and Franziska Speyer (1844-1909). In addition to other social engagements, the banking couple founded the Georg and Franziska Speyer'sche Studienstiftung , which was re-established in 1949 as the Georg and Franziska Speyer'sche University Foundation. The foundation supports the University of Frankfurt and the affiliated Taunus Observatory.
