(265924) Franceclemente is an asteroid of the main outer belt , which was discovered by the Italian amateur astronomer Vincenzo Silvano Casulli on January 21, 2006 at the observatory in the district of Vallemare ( IAU code A55) in the municipality of Borbona in the province of Rieti . The asteroid had already been sighted in October 2004 under the provisional designation 2004 TZ 277 as part of the Spacewatch project of the University of Arizona at the Kitt Peak National Observatory.
The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis . The timeless (not osculating ) orbital elements of (265924) France Clemente are almost identical to those of five other asteroid: (30352) 2000 JL 39 , (89289) 2001 VY 21 , (89446) 2001 WW 78 , (266347) 2007 DK 101 and (308988) 2006 UE 13 .
(265924) Franceclemente was named on December 3, 2017 after the painter and designer of the postmodern Italian transavant-garde Francesco Clemente , who is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters .
