(2681) Ostrovskij ( 1975 VF 2 ; 1968 FZ ; 1972 AF ; 1977 DV 4 ) is an approximately 13 km large asteroid of the central main belt that was discovered on November 2, 1975 by the Russian (then: Soviet Union ) astronomer Tamara Michailovna Smirnova in the Crimea -Observatory ( Nautschnyj branch) on the Crimean peninsula ( IAU code 095) was discovered.
designation
(2681) Ostrovskij was named after the Soviet writer and revolutionary Nikolai Alexejewitsch Ostrowski (1904–1936), who is known for his novel How steel was hardened .
