(3043) San Diego ( 1982 SA ; 1974 SQ 2 ) is an approximately three miles large asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on September 20, 1982 by the American astronomer Eleanor Helin at the Palomar Observatory northeast of San Diego , California ( IAU Code 675) was discovered.
