(62190) Augusthorch is an asteroid of the middle main belt , which was discovered on September 26, 2000 by the German amateur astronomer Jens Kandler at the Saxon public observatory in Drebach ( IAU code 113). The asteroid had previously been sighted on May 30, 1987 under the provisional designation 1987 KV 1 at the Siding Spring Observatory near Coonabarabran , New South Wales .

The asteroid's orbit around the Sun has a high eccentricity of 0.2924 .

According to the SMASS classification ( Small Main-Belt Asteroid Spectroscopic Survey ), Augusthorch was assigned to the taxonomic class of C asteroids in a spectroscopic study by Gianluca Masi , Sergio Foglia and Richard P. Binzel (62190) .

(62190) August Horch was on 26 September 2007 after the German mechanical engineer and founder of the automotive company Horch and Audi August Horch named (1868-1951).
