(9010) Candelo is an asteroid of the main belt . It was discovered on April 27, 1984 by the Italian astronomer Vincenzo Zappalà at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809).

The asteroid was named on May 20, 2008 after the municipality of Candelo in the province of Biella , Piedmont region , which is known for the Ricetto di Candelo, a district that was fortified in the Middle Ages and very densely built up.
