(91006) Fleming is an asteroid of the central main belt that was discovered on January 28, 1998 by the Czech astronomers Miloš Tichý and Zdeněk Moravec at the Kleť Observatory ( IAU code 046) near Český Krumlov .

It is believed that (91006) Fleming could broadly belong to the Maria family, a group of asteroids named after the asteroid (170) Maria . The timeless (non- osculating ) orbital elements of (91006) Fleming are almost identical to those of the larger asteroids (18144) 2000 OO 48, assuming the absolute magnitude of 13.9 compared to 15.9 mag .

(91006) Fleming is named after the Scottish bacteriologist and Nobel Prize winner Alexander Fleming . The name was given by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) on November 24, 2007. After Alexander Fleming and the American astronomer Williamina Fleming , a lunar crater in the northern lunar hemisphere was named in 1970 : lunar crater Fleming .
