Events
- Around 10930 BC The volcano of the Laacher See erupts in the Eifel . In large parts of Europe , the ejected material is detectable in sediments as a characteristic thin pumice layer and can be used for dating.
- From 10700 BC. The Ahrensburg culture arises in northern Central Europe .
- Around 10600 BC The Icelandic volcano Katla erupts . This event, called the Sólheimar eruption , was one of the largest known volcanic eruptions in Iceland. Traces can be found around the North Atlantic .
- Around 10500 BC BC: The Jomon culture in Japan , named after its typical ceramics decorated with string patterns ( Japanese jomon ) , flourishes in Japan. Small clay figures are set up, which are mostly female. In addition to the clay figures, vertical stones and phallic symbols are venerated. The final resting places of the deceased are always in the middle of the settlements.
