The 155th Panzer Division was a major unit of the army of the German Wehrmacht in World War II .

The 155th Panzer Division (PD) emerged from the 155th Infantry Division (motorized) and was renamed the 155th Reserve Panzer Division in August 1943 and deployed as an occupation force in Rennes and Nimes in France. In March 1944 the 9th Panzer Division , which had suffered heavy losses on the Eastern Front, was refreshed with large parts of the 155th Reserve Panzer Division . As a reserve division, the 155th PD was used to replenish active tank divisions.
