The 18 m distance boats are a series of police boats from the Fassmer shipyard in Berne , of which two units were built for the police in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

The order to build the two boats was placed in March 2006 after a Europe-wide tender to the Fassmer shipyard in Berne / Motzen. The boats were built in 2006/2007 for EUR 1.8 million each and completed at the end of May and beginning of August 2007.

The boats were christened on August 9, 2007 in Berne and put into service by Ulrich Lorenz, State Secretary in the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of the Interior. The boats were then transferred to the Baltic Sea on their own keel . The Glücksburg is the water police station Flensburg, the gripping subject to the harbor police station Travemuende. The boats with their home port of Kiel are stationed in Flensburg and Travemünde and are mainly used in the Flensburg Fjord or the Bay of Lübeck and in the area of the Trave shipping route. The boats are also available to the federal coast guard .

Technical data and equipment

The boats are powered by two six-cylinder - four stroke - diesel engines of the manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus (type: D 2876 LE 404), each with 463  kW power driven. The motors act on two fixed propellers via reduction gears .

A diesel generator with an apparent power of 20  kVA is available for the power supply . The boats are equipped with a bow thruster with 10 kW power. The range of the boats is 700 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots  .

The boats have two decks with a closed steering position. Below deck is the check-in area, a pantry area as well as two bedrooms and relaxation rooms for up to four people and a wet room with toilet, wash basin and separate shower, so that assignments lasting several days are also possible.

A dinghy is carried in the aft deck area , which can be launched with the on-board telescopic crane and brought back on board.
