  • Sun Ce goes from Danyang, where his uncle Wu Jing is governor, with a few hundred men to the neighboring warlord Yuan Shu to serve him. Yuan Shu welcomes Sun Ce with delight and complains that he does not have a son like him. He assigns him troops from his fallen father Sun Jian 's division. He also promises Sun Ce command of Jiujiang City , but then leaves it to his officer, Chen Ji. When the governor of Lujiang refuses to send a large shipment of grain to Yuan Shu, Yuan Shu dispatches Sun Ce with a force and promises him command of Lujiang. After Sun C's victory, Yuan Shu breaks his promise again, and Sun Ce considers leaving him. In the meantime, the warlord Liu Yao conquered the city of Qu'e and drove Sun C's uncle Wu Jing from there. Yuan Shu sends Sun C's cousin Sun Ben against Liu Yao, but he cannot do anything.
  • The city of Ru'nan is haunted by bandits led by the former Yellow Turban Gong Du.
  • Governor Tao Qian has to watch on his death bed as Cao Cao conquers his territory. He considers entrusting his inheritance to Liu Bei , but dies first. Cao Cao takes over the Tao Qian-controlled provinces of Yang and Xu.
