Korea
After Gogukcheon's death , his brother Sansang becomes ruler of the state of Goguryeo , the northern of the Three Kingdoms of Korea . He marries U, his brother's widow. In the same year, Sansang had to put down an uprising by his older brother Balgi, which was supported by the Chinese Han dynasty . Sansang sends his younger brother Gyesu with an army against Balgi, who is beaten and commits suicide.

- After the warlord Cao Cao invited the emperor to his headquarters in Xuchang, he pulled a bogus decree against the former rulers Guo Si and Li Jue in the former capital Chang'an . With heavy losses he succeeds in defeating them.
- General Zhang Xiu , who serves the warlord Liu Biao , surrenders with his troops and his fortress Wancheng (today Nanyang , Henan ) to the approaching Cao Cao. Due to personal differences, Zhang Xiu soon attacks his new master in Wancheng, but he escapes through the sacrifice of his bodyguard Dian Wei , his son Cao Ang and his nephew Cao Anmin . Zhang Xiu now rules Wancheng as an independent warlord and can hold his own against Cao Cao for three years. The new leader of Cao Cao's bodyguard becomes Xu Chu .
- The invasion of the warlord Sun Ce in the as yet undeveloped south of the empire enters the final phase, the conquest of Jiangdong (today's Zhejiang province ). The local governor Liu Yong sends the deserving General Taishi Ci against him, who is defeated by Sun Ce and joins him at Sun Quan's invitation.
- The warlord Liu Yao falls out with his general Ze Rong while fleeing from Sun Ce . He drives him out of the city of Yuzhang with heavy losses, and while retreating Ze Rong is slain by bandits in the mountains. Liu Yao's position in Yuzhang is uncertain and Sun C's invasion is unstoppable. The warlord Liu Bei tries to assert himself against him with the help of officer Chen Deng , but can do nothing.
Roman Empire
- February 19 : At Lugdunum , today's Lyon , one of the greatest battles in Roman history takes place between Emperor Septimius Severus and the counter-emperor Clodius Albinus . Septimius Severus is already defeated and on the run when a surprising counterattack by the imperial cavalry turns the tide. Clodius Albinus is killed in the battle, the fled Septimius Severus returns and finally prevails throughout the empire. The damnatio memoriae is imposed on Clodius, and many of his supporters are executed, including 29 senators.
- Septimius Severus, together with his son Caracalla, wages another war against the Parthian Empire and penetrates to their capital, Ctesiphon .
