- December 25th : Roman Empire : The youngest son of Emperor Constantine Flavius Iulius Constans is appointed caesar like his brothers .
- In Cyprus , Calocaerus rises against the Roman emperor Constantine the Great .
- Flavius Dalmatius , the half-brother of Emperor Constantine, receives the title of censor . The office was abolished in the Roman Empire in 96 .
Religion and culture
- A Christian pilgrim sets out on a journey from Bordeaux to Jerusalem and records his route in a travel guide, the Itinerarium Burdigalense . It is the oldest description of a pilgrimage that has survived to this day .
