- Destruction of the Burgundian Empire by the Roman Magister militum Flavius Aëtius with the help of Hunnic auxiliaries after the Burgundians breached a contract . The king of the Burgundians, Gundahar , fell in battle (see Nibelungen saga / Nibelungen complaint ). Gundioch becomes the new king of the rest of the people .
