The AFA League , also known as the Anguillan League , is Anguilla 's top division in men's football . It has existed since 1997 and is under the supervision of the Anguilla Football Association .
history
The first champion of the Caribbean island was Spartans International from The Valley in 1998 . In the 1998/99 season seven teams took part in the championship. However, there are currently few records of the competitions. The 1999/00 season was canceled due to a hurricane . Between 2000 and 2005 the Roaring Lions from Stoney Ground were able to win the championship title three times in a row, only interrupted in 2004 by Spartans International. In 2008, Attackers FC managed to win the national championship for the second time since 1999. In 2017 Roaring Lions FC won the championship for the seventh time and remain the sole record winner.
