career

Aarón Gamal grew up in Hermosillo , the capital of the state of Sonora, and was enthusiastic about various sports at an early age. He played basketball and volleyball , but especially baseball , a very popular sport in northern Mexico. Soon his enthusiasm for sport also began to develop for football and in the 1980/81 season he signed a professional contract with CD Coyotes Neza , making him the first resident of the city of Hermosillo to play in the Primera División .

During his time with the Coyotes, with whom he was under contract until the 1985/86 season , he played both for the Mexican junior national team , which participated in the 1981 World Junior Cup , and for the senior team for the he was used in two friendly matches: on October 17, 1984 in the 2-1 win against the United States at the Estadio Neza and on February 6, 1985 in the 2-1 defeat against Switzerland at the Estadio La Corregidora .

After spending more than five years with the Coyotes, Gamal moved to Puebla , where he spent one season each with the Ángeles (1986/87) and Puebla FC , with whom he won the Mexican Cup in the 1987/88 season.

Then Gamal moved to the UANL Tigres , with whom he reached the cup final again in the 1989/90 season and met there, of all things, on his previous club Puebla FC. Although the Tigres won the first leg at their Estadio Universitario 2-0, they had to leave the cup victory to Puebla FC after the 1: 4 defeat in the second leg.

After an injury that he suffered during the 1991/92 season, he ended his active career and moved to the Tigres coaching staff. Today he is the owner of a sports shop and is politically involved in the Partido Nueva Alianza .
