Aaron Ziercke (born February 1, 1972 in Kaltenkirchen ) is a German handball trainer and handball player .

Player career

In his youth, Aaron Ziercke began playing handball with the Kaltenkirchener Turnerschaft. Then he moved to Norderstedter SV. In his youth he went to THW Kiel . After a year at the club, he received his first assignments in the 1990/91 Bundesliga season. After a total of three seasons as an active player, he left Kiel in 1993 and joined VfL Bad Schwartau . From there he went to SG Flensburg-Handewitt a short time later . After only one season at VfL Gummersbach , he moved to SG Hameln , where he stayed for two seasons. In 1998 he went to GWD Minden . He remained loyal to the club for six years until he moved to SG Achim / Baden in the regional handball league . Ziercke had ended his career in the association league at HSG Stemmer / Friedewalde . From January 2014 until the end of the 2013/14 season, Ziercke played again actively handball and ran for the district league club HCE Bad Oeynhausen.

For the German national team Ziercke has scored 52 goals in 24 games. His greatest success was 3rd place at the 1998 European Handball Championship in Italy.

Coaching career

From July 2009 Aaron Ziercke worked as the coach of the second team at GWD Minden , and from February 2012 until his resignation in October 2013 he was assistant coach of the Bundesliga team at GWD Minden. In October 2014 he became the successor of Rastislav Trtík, who was on leave, as coach at the second division club HC Empor Rostock . In summer 2016 he took over TuS N-Lübbecke , from which he was released in March 2019. Ziercke has been training the second division TV Emsdetten since February 18, 2020 .

Private

Aaron Ziercke is a wholesale merchant and, with the former German national handball player Anika Ziercke, geb. Schafferus married. He has two children with her.
