Off to the south is a hit musical by Espen Nowacki. The music is based on the 50 best-known hit songs.
The musical tours Germany every year. The world premiere took place in 2016.
The cast includes Espen Nowacki, Jeanne Marie-Nigl, Maike Katrin Merkel , Michael Müller, Dalma Viczina, Tim Reichwein, Monika Staszak, Yvonne Köstler, Ben Schobel, Johanna Wypich, Thorin Kuhn, Marina Pechmann, Dominic Niedenzu, Eva Kuperion and Michael Thurner.

The plot focuses on three German couples. They meet on vacation in a hotel on the Riviera. There it comes to errors and confusions between the couples, which could not be more different.
Resi (44 years) and Michael (45 years) Schnitzler from Düsseldorf are looking for relaxation on the Riviera. Michael is commanded by Resi. Meanwhile, Resi is flattered by Johnny.
Anita (27 years old) and Johnny (30 years old) from Munich-Schwabing come from Munich's high society and have been a couple for 10 years, Anita waits in vain for the marriage proposal. However, she feels drawn to Thorben.
Marina (17 years old) and Thorben (19 years old), also from North Rhine-Westphalia, spend their first vacation together and meet Thorbens math teacher, Mr. Schnitzler, who keeps an eye on Marina.

Participatory activities are particularly enjoyable: a visitor with an actress gallops piggyback through the audience arena. There are a few trade-offs for the quality of the performance. Vocally everything wasn't always great, sometimes the melodies sounded a little weird. Perhaps it was the important man at the mixer who did not always operate the controls to the fullest satisfaction.
