Life
Abdullah was bred by the Trakehner Stud in Birkhausen in Germany. After his mother Abiza was sold to Canada in pregnancy in 1970, Abdullah was born on December 7th in Unionville, Ontario with Gerhard Schickedanz. At the age of three he was sold to Terry and Sue Williams, the owners of the Williamsburg Farm, in the USA. First he was broken into by his owner and was successful in dressage tests and in eventing up to medium level. Even during his later career in show jumping, his owners accompanied him to all his tournaments. After he was retired from the sport at the age of 18, he was still ridden by Sue Williams. He died of colic on January 5, 2000 at the age of 30. In 2009 he was inducted into the United States Show Jumping Hall of Fame . The Chronicle of The Horse named him one of the top 50 horses of the century.

In view of his great successes, Abdullah was also licensed by the Trakehner Association in Germany this year . At the 1986 World Show Jumping Championships in Aachen, Conrad Homfeld and Abdullah were able to repeat the success of the Olympic Games - gold with the team and silver in the individual.
