Acıgöl ( Turkish for "Bitter Lake" ), formerly Dobada or Topada , is a city and capital of the district of the same name ( İlçe ) in the Central Anatolian province of Nevşehir . The city is located about 20 km west-southwest of the provincial capital Nevşehir on the D300 trunk road.
The district Acıgöl located in the southwest of the province and is bordered to the north by the county Gülşehir , northeast and east to the central district of Nevsehir and in the southeast on the circle Derinkuyu , to the west the province borders Aksaray and the southwest in a narrow piece of the province of Nigde .
The district was formed in 1987 from the western part of the central district (Merkez). Until then he had his own Bucak there and had a population of 25,007 inhabitants (23.5% of the central district) at the last census before the change of area (1985). 6,108 of them were in the capital of Bucak ( Bucak Merkezi ) Acıgöl.
At the end of 2018, the district consisted of the district town (almost 30% of the district's population) and two other Belediye (municipalities): Karapınar (2,915) and Tatların (2,248 inhabitants). There were also ten villages ( Köy ) with an average of 855 inhabitants. Karacaören (2,466), Topaç (1,377), İnallı (947), Kurugöl (945) and Tepeköy (918 inh .) Were the largest.
Attractions
About nine kilometers south of the village is the rock inscription of Topada by King Wasusarma of Tabal , which was affected by fighting in the 8th century BC. Reported in the area.
