Adam John Parker (born January 13, 1972 in Cleveland ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Baltimore .

Life

Adam John Parker graduated from high school with a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Maryland, College Park . In 1994 he entered the seminary in Baltimore and in 1995 moved to the Pontifical North America College in Rome. On May 27, 2000, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Baltimore . In the following year he obtained a licentiate in sacramental theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University .

After various positions in pastoral care, he became the personal secretary of Archbishop Edwin Frederick O'Brien and Vice Chancellor of the Diocesan Curia in 2007 . In 2011 he received the honorary title of Papal Honorary Chaplain . He followed Cardinal Brien in 2012 when he was called to Rome and initially remained its secretary. From 2012 to 2013 he was assistant and private secretary to the new Grand Master of the order, Cardinal Edwin O'Brien, in the Grand Magisterium of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem . In 2014 he became Vicar General and Moderator of the Diocesan Curia of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He was also a member of the board of directors of the diocesan charity.

Pope Francis appointed him Auxiliary Bishop in Baltimore and Titular Bishop of Tasaccora on December 5, 2016 . The Archbishop of Baltimore, William E. Lori , gave him and the same time appointed Mark Edward Brennan on 19 January of the following year, the episcopal ordination . Co- consecrators were the Old Archbishop of Baltimore and Cardinal Edwin Frederick O'Brien and the Archbishop of Washington , Cardinal Donald Wuerl .
