Origin and family

Adolf Heidenreich was the son of the couple Clemens August Maria Droste zu Vischering (1742–1790) and Sophia Alexandrina Droste zu Füchten (1748–1817) of the Westphalian noble family Droste zu Vischering , one of the oldest and most important Westphalian families. He grew up with his five siblings. His brother Kaspar Maximilian was Bishop of Münster, Franz Otto was a Catholic theologian and publicist, Clemens August Archbishop of Cologne and Maximilian Heidenreich District Administrator in Brilon. On August 2, 1793, he married Antonetta Countess von Merveldt (* 1770, † 1798) in Westerwinkel Castle. The marriage resulted in the son Maximilian Heidenricus Ludwig (* 1794, † 1849, father of Clemens Heidenreich ) and the daughter Sophia (* 1796, † 1825). On September 24, 1799 he married Maria Karoline Nesselrode (1779-1858), daughter of Johann Franz Joseph von Nesselrode-Reichenstein (1755-1824) and Johanna Felicitas Manderscheid-Blankenheim (1753-) in Schloss Herten . This marriage produced the son Johann Felix Bernhard (* 1808, † 1865). He became the universal heir of his grandfather Johann von Nesselrode-Reichenstein and had to inherit the name and coat of arms of Nesselrode. So he became the founder of the Droste Vischering line in Nesselrode-Reichenstein.
