Agnes Samaria (born August 11, 1972 in Otjiwarongo , South West Africa ) is a former Namibian middle-distance runner . The track and field athlete is three times Namibian “Sportswoman of the Year” and since October 27, 2005 “Goodwill Ambassador” of the United Nations International Children's Fund . After retiring from competitive sports, she became team leader at the Namibian Athletics Association.

The full-time teacher won medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. In addition, Agnes Samaria took part in the World Athletics Championships 2001 in Edmonton , 2003 in Paris , 2005 in Helsinki and 2007 in Osaka, as well as the Olympic Games in 2000 , 2004 and 2008 for her country.

Samaria's personal bests are:

  • 400 meters 53.83 seconds on February 12, 2001 (in Potchefstroom ),
  • 800 meters 1: 59.15 minutes on July 29, 2002 (in Manchester ),
  • 1000 meters 2: 34.19 minutes on August 30, 2002 (in Brussels ) and
  • 1500 meters 4: 5.30 minutes on July 29, 2008 (in Monaco ).

The personal trainer of Agnes Samaria was the Saarland national trainer Willi Gernemann .
