Ahmad Abughaush ( Arabic أحمد أبو غوش, DMG Aḥmad Abū Ġauš ; * February 1, 1996 in Amman ) is a Jordanian Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 68 kilograms.

Abughaush fought for the first time in 2011 at the world championship in the weight class up to 58 kilograms in the adult area, where he was eliminated in the second round. The following year he became world champion in the juniors' weight class up to 63 kilograms. In 2015 he took part in the World Cup for the second time . Again he was eliminated in the second round, this time against Alexei Denissenko .

At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he was Olympic champion with victories over Ghofran Zaki , Lee Dae-hoon , Joel González and Alexei Denissenko in the weight class up to 68 kilograms. Abughaush won the first medal at the Olympic Games in the history of Jordan. The Jordan Olympic Committee awarded him 100,000 Jordanian dinars (approx. 126,500 euros) for winning a medal .

He won the bronze medal at the 2017 World Championships . Another bronze medal followed a year later at the Asian Games . In 2019 , he secured silver at the World Cup in Manchester .

He is studying economics at the University of Jordan in Amman.
