The Ahornbüchsenkopf is a 1604 m above sea level. NN high northern foothills of the Hohen Göll in the Berchtesgaden Alps in the district of Berchtesgadener Land , Bavaria ( Germany ) and in the state of Salzburg ( Austria ).
Geographical location
The Ahornbüchsenkopf rises in the Berchtesgaden Alps around 2.8 km north-northeast of the Hohen Göll or just under 6 km (as the crow flies ) east of Berchtesgaden . The German-Austrian border runs over the summit.
At the lightly wooded Ahornbüchsenkopf, the Untere and Obere Ahornalm extend on the German side , the latter being accessible to tourists with the Ahornkaser mountain inn ( 1520 m ) and ski lift . Between Ahornbüchsenkopf and the High Goll standing on the ridge Ecker First , the via the plug saddle ( 1413 m ) achievable Purtschellerhaus ( 1692 m ).
The Roßfeldhöhenringstrasse runs through the summit region of the Ahornbüchsenkopf (north-east of the summit called Hahnenkamm), which near the summit runs sometimes on German and sometimes on Austrian territory and in Austria at around 1560 m above sea level. NN reached its highest point.
The source streams of the Larosbach , which runs on German territory and is a southern tributary of the Lettengraben in the eastern catchment area of the Berchtesgadener Ache , arise on the western slope of the Ahornbüchsenkopf . The source brooks of the Sulzgraben , which is a western tributary of the Salzach , arise to the east of its hilltop .
Possibility of viewing
From the easily hiked Ahornbüchsenkopf or from the Roßfeldhöhenringstraße you can enjoy the view of Hochkalter , Reiter Alm , Untersberg and the Berchtesgaden valley basin as well as the expansive Salzach valley. In the south, the nearby northern slopes of the Hohen Göll are impressive . If visibility is good, the Dachstein can be seen in the east .
