Akdemir ( kurmanji Avşeker) is a village in the district of Pertek in the Turkish province of Tunceli . Akdemir is located in a basin at 1140 m above sea level, about 27 km northwest of Pertek in the north of the Keban reservoir . Akdemir is also the capital of the eponymous Bucak , to which a total of 9 villages belong: Aşağıgülbahçe , Ayazpınar , Ballıdut , Bulgurtepe , Çukurca , Gövdeli , Konaklar , Yukarıgülbahçe and Akdemir itself.

The Kurdish name of the village "Avşeker" is the original place name. He became Ottoman آب شكر Written from Şeker and means "sugar water". Zazaki and Kurmanji are predominantly spoken in Akdemir . The Zazaki predominates. Numerous residents belong to the formerly powerful tribe of the Şavak Kurds.

In the early 1990s, 360 people lived in Akdemir. For 2011 the TÜIK gives 194 inhabitants for the village and 1,073 for the whole of Bucak. In 2010 Akdemir had 226 inhabitants in 32 households. Akdemir has a primary school. The main sources of income for the inhabitants are agriculture and animal husbandry. Mainly wheat and barley are grown. In animal husbandry, sheep and goats are predominant.

Akdemir is connected to the drinking water supply and has a sewer system. At Akdemir there is a Jandarma guard .
