Akdeniz Airlines , actually Akdeniz Hava Yolları , was a Turkish charter airline based in Istanbul .
history
Akdeniz Airlines was founded at the beginning of 1995. The intended use of Boeing 757 aircraft could not be financially realized, so that in June of the same year flight operations with three Airbus A300B4s began. The utilization turned out to be rather unsatisfactory; It is not uncommon for aircraft to remain on the ground in Antalya or Istanbul due to a lack of orders. The economic situation finally culminated in the fact that the US leasing companies reclaimed an Airbus A300 and did not release the other two machines at London Stansted Airport . Akdeniz Airlines had to cease flight operations in November 1995.
The Turkish government stopped several attempts to reactivate flight operations.
Destinations
There were flights from various European airports to destinations in Turkey.
fleet
When operations began in May 1995, Akdeniz Airlines' fleet consisted of three Airbus A300B4s .
