history

1994

Holiday Airlines began flight operations in the 1994 summer season with two leased Airbus A320s . However, this had to be suspended for a month after bureaucratic obstacles arose for Holiday Airlines. In mid-July 1994 flight operations were resumed with additionally leased Airbus A300 and Airbus A310 . At the end of November 1994, flight operations were stopped again because the leasing company had suspended the two Airbus A320s due to outstanding payments at Düsseldorf and Hanover airports . As a result, Holiday Airlines returned the two aircraft.

For the 1995 summer season, Holiday Airlines started with a leased Airbus A300. As in the previous year, other types of aircraft were temporarily rented in the event of capacity bottlenecks. These were mainly Russian machines that were the undoing of society. After the crash of a Birgenair flight in the Caribbean , the German media basically classified all Russian aircraft as unsafe. Even the short-term rental of a TriStar and another Airbus A300 could not prevent the company from being temporarily banned from entering Germany on September 10, 1996. The aircraft that were still waiting in Germany for their departure were promptly examined by a task force from the Federal Aviation Office , accompanied by a television team. In the process, some deficiencies were discovered which ensured that the company was finally banned from entering Germany by a court decision in November 1996. As a result, the company ceased operations.

Destinations

There were mainly flights from German airports to tourist destinations in Turkey .
