history

Stena Nordica

The Stena Nordica was created under the hull number 382 on the Rickmers shipyard in Bremerhaven and was on the 16 May 1975 stack left. After the takeover by Stena Line on November 28, 1975, the ship began ferry operations between Gothenburg and Kiel on December 2 . Since 1976, the Stena Nordica has been chartered to Canada several times to be used there in North Sydney .

From 1978 onwards, several charters were made to the Greek shipping company Hellas Ferries , which they used under the name Hellas . In the same year and 1979 Townsend Thoresen chartered the ferry.

Stena Nautica

In February 1982 the Stena Line renamed the ship the Stena Nautica . After a stay in the shipyard, it was chartered to the Belgian Regie voor Maritieme Transport and used between Ostend and Dover from April .

Pure Astrid

In March 1983 the Stena Nautica was renamed Reine Astrid . After deployments on various routes, the ship was launched in Ostend in October 1996 .

Moby Kiss

Onorato Overseas Transport Maritima became the new owner in February 1997 and renamed it Moby Kiss . However, a planned assignment for Moby Lines did not materialize.

Al Mansour

Instead, the ferry was put into service in May 1997 as Al Mansour for the Moroccan shipping company Comanav on the route from Algeciras and Tangier . In May 2012 the Al Mansour was launched in Algeciras. Comanav stopped its ferry service in the same year. After three years of berthing, the ship was auctioned in June 2015 and sold for scrapping in Aliağa , Turkey , where it arrived on August 11, 2015.

Incidents

On August 6, 2001, the Al Mansour collided with the bulk carrier Indalo off Gibraltar and was slightly damaged. In the port of Algeciras she collided with the ferry Ciudad De Malaga on April 17, 2007 . There was again slight damage.
