Albert Meister (born January 14, 1895 in Siedlinghausen , † August 20, 1942 in Herne ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending school, master was trained at the preparatory institute and at a teachers' seminar. On August 1, 1914, he volunteered to take part in the First World War , in which he was wounded twice. In October 1917 he was the third top-Alsatian Field Artillery Regiment. 80 for an officer promoted. After his return from the war, Meister started earning his living as a primary school teacher in Herne in January 1919.

In 1923, Meister joined the NSDAP. In June 1928 he took over a public office as a city councilor of the NSDAP in his home town of Herne for the first time . In September 1931, Meister was dismissed from public school because of his work in the NSDAP. He then founded the Ruhrland Verlag Meister & Co and worked as a journalist until 1933. In 1931 he was appointed regional advisor for local politics and regional commissioner of the NSDAP. He was an imperial speaker for the NSDAP. In 1932 Meister was elected to the Prussian Landtag as a member of the NSDAP , to which he belonged until the body was dissolved in autumn 1933.

After the " seizure of power " by the NSDAP in the spring of 1933, Meister was appointed district inspector. In March 1933 he was appointed to the Prussian Ministry of Culture. In April he was appointed Lord Mayor of the city of Herne. From November 12, 1933 until his death in 1942, Meister was also a member of the National Socialist Reichstag as a member of constituency 18 (South Westphalia).

Meister headed the Westphalian Singers 'Association from 1933 and also served as the federal leader of the German Singers' Association from 1934.
